Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from the Michael Feger Paralysis Foundation.
2016 was a great year for the foundation. The 6th Annual Summer Showdown Car Show & Silent Auction was very successful! We had 168 registered vehicles, our largest to date. The foundation’s other fundraisers like Kroger Community Rewards, Give Local Louisville, AmazonSmile, Bravelets, eBay Giving Works and iGive were all very successful this year thanks to you!
Here are a few Quality of Life Grants we were able to fulfill in 2016 thanks to your amazing support.
In January, the foundation assisted a young lady born with Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus who needed a Wheelchair Van Lift. With support from the Spina Bifida Association, she received the van lift she needed.
In April, the foundation assisted a woman with a Incomplete C5-6 Spinal Cord Injury. With assistance from the Travis Roy Foundation, we provided a SureHands Lift system for her home.
In July, the foundation assisted a man with quadriplegia, a C4-6 Spinal Cord Injury. His therapist wanted him to transition from a power wheelchair to a manual wheelchair. We helped him get a manual wheelchair to improve his range of motion and recovery.
In August, the foundation assisted a man Paralyzed from the waist down. He needed an accessible wheelchair van to get out and go to appointments. With our help and the funds raised from their family and friends, he was able to buy an accessible wheelchair van. He got to go to the State Fair for the first time since his injury.
Thanks to all our sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and supporters for making these grants possible.
