Privacy Policy

The Michael Feger Paralysis Foundation (the “MFPF”) respects your privacy. We do not collect personal information from you unless you offer it. We are dedicated to helping people with paralysis move forward in a life of independence, health and personal fulfillment. We can successfully fundraise only with the support of our friends and community, but understand that our visitors may be concerned about the information they provide to us and how we treat that information.

Cookies

The MFPF and it’s online software use “cookies”–codes that allow us to recognize your computer when you visit our website. We collect and store only anonymous information about your computer and mode of internet access, including the name of the domain from which you access the internet, the date and time you access our site, how long you stayed on our site, and the internet address that brought you to our site. We track this information to improve the usefulness, value, and navigation of our website. The MFPF uses cookies to identify members who register with our website and are given a password. This allows access to areas of our website and certain publications without requesting a sign-in form each and every time.

Online Donations

The MFPF takes the protection of sensitive materials regarding online donations very seriously. The MFPF works with its vendors to secure transactions according to industry standards using generally agreed upon methods of encryption and encoding. Personal information is stored in a database with reasonable protections in place against privacy breaches using multiple “firewalls”. Any vendors affiliated with the MFPF are held to industry-standard practices including, but not limited to, confidentiality.

Personal Information

The MFPF collects personal information when you register with us to make a donation or apply for a grant. We may ask for information such as name, address, phone number, email address, and other information. We reserve the right to email you for fundraising efforts unless you expressly request not to be emailed. Our emails are never sent unsolicited. Unsubscribe information can be found at the bottom of every mass email sent.


Mailing List

The MFPF provides a separate online form to join our mailing list. The information we collect includes: name, address, email address, and phone number. This information is securely stored internally accessed only when we correspond with our mailing list periodically during the year, either via email or regular mail. Please contact us if you would like to correct or change the personal information you have previously provided. To protect your privacy and security, we will take certain steps to verify your identity before granting access to your information or making corrections. Callers will be asked specific questions, including full name, address, and phone number in order to verify their identify and protect the privacy of the MFPF’s donors and members of its mailing list.

Opt-Out

If you do not want to receive emails from us, please let us know by sending your request via email to contact@michaelfegerparalysisfoundation.org. You can also unsubscribe following the instructions at the bottom of every mass email sent. If you do not want to receive postal mail from us, call (502) 321-3160 or write the MFPF at the address below. The MFPF will never rent, trade, or sell your email or physical address.
