Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from the Michael Feger Paralysis Foundation.
2015 was a great year for the Michael Feger Paralysis Foundation. The 5th Annual Summer Showdown Car Show & Silent Auction was very successful. We fulfilled several Quality of Life Grants as the foundation turned 5 years old. We have awarded a total of $22,899.57 in Quality of Life Grants to people with spinal cord injuries in Kentucky and Indiana.
Here are a few Quality of Life Grants we were able to provide this year.
We helped a man from Indiana with a C3-C4 incomplete spinal cord injury. He needed help to continue his physical therapy. He has made a lot of progress this year.
We helped a C5-C6 spinal cord injury from Kentucky. Everyone knows that wheelchairs can’t go off road. This is a huge problem for someone who has a major passion to hunt, fish and be outdoors. The best solution is a $17,000 Track Wheelchair that can go wherever you want. We helped him purchase a Track Wheelchair and I’m happy to report he got a deer this year.
Our last grant of 2015 went to help a child with a C8 incomplete spinal cord injury from Kentucky. We purchased a much needed Standing frame that helps with weight bearing, increase bone density, muscle stretching and improves respiratory control.
A huge thanks to our dedicated board members, volunteers, and supporters for making these grants possible.
We will start planning the 6th Annual Summer Showdown Car Show & Silent Auction in January. Mark your calendars for July 16, 2016!
If you want to help us make 2016 the best year yet please contact us. We need lots of volunteers, people to help collect silent auction items, people to help find sponsors and vendors, people to help distribute flyers and people to help with task at the show.
